This course introduces students to the aesthetic concepts and technical considerations of digital photography. Students will study the history of the photography and learn about key elements of the medium including composition, color theory, lighting, and image processing. Through hands-on assignments students will practice the visual awareness and aesthetic vocabulary necessary to plan, compose, and edit high quality photographs. The course highlights the use of photography as a form of artistic expression and also as a medium for communication.
