BS101 introduces students to topical, discipline-specific content, and reinforces it through skill-building activities developed in MC101 (College Success) and applied in the transition to college. The seminar integrates engaging activities, relevant readings, and media with experiential learning and community-engaged events. Intentionally paired with MC101, BS101 fosters intellectual curiosity and helps students apply skills of attention, time management, and academic inquiry in service of larger questions. Students who complete both courses will finish their first semester with stronger academic habits, a richer self-understanding, and the beginnings of a personal framework for a purposeful life.
